A major concern for patients receiving a permanent bladder pacemaker is how it affects their daily lives. In this article, I address daily life and precautions after receiving a bladder pacemaker.
Physical Activities
Avoid heavy lifting and twisting movements for the first 6-8 weeks to allow the device to secure in place. Afterward, swimming, traveling, and sexual life can be resumed with confidence.
MRI and Medical Compatibility
Modern devices are mostly MRI-conditional. The battery must be turned off via remote control before entering an MRI suite. Always inform your physicians that you carry an implanted stimulator.
